Judy D’cruz (Biog)

Judy D’cruz died on 20th January 2023 after a ten year battle with a brain tumour. After an initial grade 3 brain tumour diagnosis in September 2012, following radiotherapy Judy went on to live a good life with her family who were the centre of everything she did. She had some wonderful holidays all over the world and got to see the birth of four fabulous grand daughters, all of whom she loved dearly. A MRI scan in May 2022 showed that the tumour had started to grow again and this time was a Grade 4 glioblastoma. Having been involved in fundraising for many years, Judy was well aware of what this meant. After surgery and unsuccessful chemotherapy , Judy was able to have a fairly decent summer and went on holiday with all her family. Judy wasn’t in the best of health for her 60th birthday and Christmas but was able to partake and enjoy herself. Judy was relatively well until the last few days of her life enjoying plenty of visits from friends and family and lots of meals out. When Judy died at 16:40 on 20th Jan 2023 she left behind her husband Win, and her precious sons Dan, Andrew and Mark as well as her grand daughters Isla, Maddie, Ellis and Amelie.
Judy was a remarkable person who lived life to the full and was remembered by many for her big laugh and beautiful smile. Not a bad way to be remembered. She will be missed by so many but we vow to continue to raise funds to beat this dreadful disease, so that in future when someone gets a diagnosis of the dreaded GBM4 they can be told it is treatable, not terminal.
